We are working with a digital agency to hire a mid-senior Ruby on Rails developer to lead development of a SaaS product they are spinning out from their internal innovation labs.

Based 45 minutes outside London, this company has been using Rails for a number of years. You should be proficient in writing clear, maintainable code, and communicating well within an experienced technical team.

In this role you will be leading the development of a new SaaS product that has been spun out of a respected web agency, so experience of leading product development, and contributing towards overall system architecture would be key. The product is delivered via web and mobile apps and you will mainly be working on the back-end API.

You will be working with designers, developers, and product/project managers, so you should be confident communicating your ideas thoughts to collaborate around the best way to take the product forward.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 – 5 years’ Ruby on Rails experience, and an understanding of server setup and DevOps would also be a bonus.

The technical team like to keep up with the latest tools, languages, and frameworks. They have an internal innovation lab where software developers work on internal projects that are sometimes spun out like this SaaS product. This enables them to use the latest technologies and frameworks and keep the tech team’s knowledge up-to-date.

This company has a great atmosphere and there are opportunities for team trips and events, as well being a key person in the delivery of an innovative SaaS solution.

Required

• 3+ years’ Ruby experience
• Experience of developing APIs for mobile applications
• Experience leading development on a product

Nice to have

• Experience of working in a digital agency
• DevOps experience

Salary

£40,000 – £65,000 (depending on experience)
